I started my career as a technical writer, documenting complex enterprise applications. It gave me a great foundation for what worked and what didn't work in terms of UX design. By the time I got to Bain & Company, I leveraged that experience to create dynamic mockups for our in-house applications. By using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I was able to give stakeholders live, interactive POCs that could then be used in the actual applications. I knew then that I wanted to create, not just document.

From then to now, I've been lucky enough to build everything from statically generated websites to SaaS enterprise applications to SPA applications. My passion is building clean, extensible code that can be used to generate an intuitive, accessible user experience. I truly believe that web technology can be a source of positive change and progress in this world and I love being part of that.

Outside of work, I enjoy making other things in real life: woodworking, 3D printing, jewelry making, sewing...these are just a few of my crafting hobbies. I also love reading, especially science-fiction and fantasy that holds up a mirror to our world and the ways it can be better. I care deeply about social and ecological justice. I'm a husband and a father. My family gives me the support and the perspective I need to work every day to make the world a better place, for everyone.
